4: Season 4 finale, unaired cliffhanger scene
Season 4 finale unaired cliffhanger scene, where Madison comes back. This was shot just in case wb/cw decides to renew the show. Originally, the producers had scripted a montage for the "series-finale cut" that went forty years into the future to show a majority of the gang at Andy's funeral — showing the series coming full circle; this was never filmed due to budgetary reasons as well as the producers' hopes that they would receive a fifth season.

1: In Search Of Everwood
In this Making of Feature which is included on the DVD, the producers discussed how they chose who to cast in certain roles while the cast discussed how they felt when they first read the pilot. Also, Tom Amandes and Chris Pratt give us a guided tour of the set. In addition, it is discussed why the show moved locations after the pilots.

After his wife is killed in a car accident, Dr. Andrew Brown (Treat Williams) moves his 15-year-old son, Ephram (Gregory Smith), and 9-year-old daughter, Delia (Vivien Cardone), to the idyllic environs of Everwood to make a new start. In the opener, the relocation sparks harsh words and hurt feelings between the emotionally distant father and his neglected son, despite Andrew's attempts to reconnect with the teen. The good doctor also runs afoul of the town's only other physician when he decides to open his own practice---right across the street from his rival's office.

Andy and Ephram's fragile relationship is further strained when it appears that Andy is once again putting work before family. Although Bright tells Ephram that Amy is using him just go get his father to get Colin out of coma. Delia gets into trouble at school for questioning her teacher's antiquated rules.

The former Big Apple neurosurgeon, Dr.Andrew Brown, puts on his scrubs for the first time since he relocated his family to Colorado to operate on Amy's comatose boyfriend, Colin (Mike Erwin), with the help of his friend and surgery partner from New York, Dr. Brian Holderman (guest star Lamont Thompson). Adding to his performance anxiety is the identity of the patient---Colin Hart, the boy who was dating Amy before she stole Ephram's heart. It also doesn't help that the tricky procedure he plans to perform has never been attempted before. Amy leans on Ephram for support as she awaits the outcome. Meanwhile, an emotional Bright breaks down and admits what actually happened the day of the car accident as Colin's former life in Everwood is also revisited as flashbacks reveal some startling secrets about the teen's last days before the accident that put him in the hospital.

On top of that, Jacob obviously enjoys a special bond with Ephram that Andy can't duplicate. Lastly, Ephram sneaks out of the house to see Amy who is still emotionally recovering from the aftermath of Colin's (Mike Erwin) surgery.

Delia and her grandmother (guest star Doris Belack) throw a festive birthday party for a grumpy Edna who hates this particular day of the year, but everyone winds up snowed in for the night when a big storm hits town. Brown and Abbott have to improvise an operating room before the infection spreads; while Andy and Ephram let months of tension and hurt feelings explode in front of everyone with a threat of Ephram moving back to New York with his grandparents.

Meanwhile, a saddened Andy feels guilty of not doing his very best as regretting now over his promise to Colin of not resuscitating him if the surgery goes wrong. Amy and the rest of the town find out about this matter and confront Dr. Brown over it.

When a coal mine collapses, Dr. Brown, together with Edna, Linda and Harold Abbott, rush to the scene to assist their neighbors. The other is Abbott's next door neighbor (guest star Beau Bridges), whose outrageous building plans Harold has tried to thwart. Meanwhile, Rose naively agrees to help Bright find his true calling after she discovers that he hasn't enrolled for college classes and is in fact leading a life of total leisure. 7: Best Laid Plans
When Jake surreptitiously informs Andy that Ephram came to him for a STD test, Andy and Harold decide the best plan of action is to convince Ephram and Amy to hold off on sex. Of course, when Ephram realizes it's no coincidence that he and Amy both had a heart-to-heart with their fathers on the same day and informs her of his suspicions, Amy feels betrayed that Ephram didn't tell her about the test beforehand. In another part of town, Nina finally decides it's time to tell Andy how she feels about him and asks him out to dinner, and Bright invites a lovestruck Hannah to go with him to a movie, but the night takes a turn for the worst when Hannah misinterprets his interest.

Ephram tries to find the baby by going to Child Services Office, but finds out that Madison signed the adoption papers with "father unknown" and terminating the parent-child relationship with "Unknown Birth Father" leaving Ephram completely crushed. Amy tries to get Ephram another audition at Julliard after he missed his first appointment due to the emergency with Madison and the baby, but it doesn't go well. Meanwhile, a tired Andy is a little stunned upon learning the extent of Nina's feelings for Jake and with a little encouragement from her friend Bright, Hannah decides to go on a date with a smitten Topher (guest-star Lukas Behnken).

The fourth season begins with a nice wedding of an unexpected couple and kiss at the airport for couple Bright and Hannah in Everwood. Nina finally chooses between the two men she loves - Andy and Jake while at Delia's behest. Amy develops a new friendship with college-age student Reid (guest-star Justin Bardoni) while waiting on her mother Rose at the hospital. Also, Amy and Rose find that Rose's cancer has driven them apart rather than brought them together. Bright flirts with a new girl who might become his roommate, but is more involved in knowing what girlfriend Hannah scribbled off the postcard that she sent to him. Lastly, Ephram makes an emotional return to Everwood just in time for an unexpected wedding.

Ephram is back in town and is giving piano lessons at ECC now. Ephram begins his piano tutor session with a 13 year-old Kyle Hunter who has a major attitude. He doesn't want to play the "classical crap" though. He wants to go to Julliard, which Ephram finds funny but isn't as amused when he insults him a lot on his Julliard past. Nevertheless, once Kyle starts playing he is extremely good and Ephram is intrigued.

5: Connect Four
Bright tries to invite Ephram on a camping trip along with his dad Harold and Andy, but Ephram is reluctant even though he and Andy are doing a bit better. Ephram eventually does go though. Also, while Amy is working to get a play together she is mortified that her signals towards Reif were way off in her attempt to pursue a relationship with him. But they do eventually kiss. Ephram meets Kyle's mother, Tracy and thanks Ephram for all he has done for him. She also sets insight on why Kyle is the way he is, which leaves Ephram more contented that Kyle is just like him. Jake treats a 40 year-old woman who has stress urinary incontinence - someone who keeps wetting themselves and having no control over it. Edna has been quite perplexed lately as Jake is opening up his private office more for surgical procedures and botox sessions.

Andy's father, whom the Brown's haven't seen in 15 years, pays a visit to Everwood surprising Andy, Ephram and Delia. Ephram and Amy try to cheer Bright up and take him out to celebrate his 21st birthday. This ends badly when a drunk Bright falls through a window and ends up in hospital. Hannah rushes to Bright's side, leaving Nick behind on their date. Jake's big question last week, gets an answer from Nina as she has decided to move to LA. Andy is not happy about this. Edna and Irv decide to drive all over the country for their retirement.

At Delia’s Bat Mitzvah, Amy watches Ephram with his new girlfriend Stephanie, and realizes her feelings for Ephram are still strong. When one of Harold’s patients leaves her baby on the Abbott’s doorstep, Harold wrestles with the right course of action while Rose immediately becomes attached to the little girl.
